Twitter was redesigned recently. So what are the new changes?

Tabs Relocation The tabs have been moved from the top of the page to the left sidebar. This relocation supposedly has been made to accommodate tabs in future.

Updates are Ajax-ed The Home and @Replies tab are now updated via Ajax, instead of a whole page reload which makes the updates faster.

Star and Reply Icons made Transparent They will now show up only when you hover over an update.

Rounded Corners Continuing the trend of  Web 2.0, they have introduced rounded corners in the design for Firefox, Safari and Google Chrome users.

Archive page removed Actually this page was pretty useless from the start since it showed you the same stuff  that you see on your own profile page – so they thought it is better to be removed.

A New Design Customizer A completely revamped design customizer, has been introduced. It has been incorporated under Settings/Design. With this tool, you can now choose from pre-designed themes, as well as play with your color scheme and background and see the results in real time.

Overview:  The new release has incorporated only a few cosmetic changes. No new drastic features have been introduced as yet but considering the popularity of Twitter among people, some new features are definitely on the offing. I personally liked the whole feel of the website and waiting eagerly for their next release.

What do you say? Are you happy with the new release? What other features should be included in the next release?
