The previous weekend (Feb 28, 2009), I had been to the Google Searchmasters Conference held at their Bangalore office along with around 100-200 webmasters, SEO’s and bloggers from many parts of the India.

The whole event was conducted in order to understand the various Google services and tools of which the webmasters can take advantage of, in order to make their website more better both for humans and bots so that it ranks high in search engine results.

The 2009 edition of Nokia Developer Conference is scheduled to be held on 20th of Jan 2009 at Taj Residency, Bangalore. For the uninitiated, Nokia Developer Conference is conducted every year by Forum Nokia, to discuss the evolution of the Mobile VAS (Value Added Service) Industry and what the future holds in store for mobile application developers.

Nokia has opened pre registrations for Nokia 5800, which is more popular under the name “Nokia Tube”. The phone is debuting in India in the month of January and is aptly priced at Rs 20,990.

Six Apart, the company behind various blogging softwares like Typepad, Movable Type and Vox has acquired the microblogging startup Pownce for an undisclosed amount and are closing it down by Dec 15th.

Few Days back the Wordpress team found a major security issue in the wordpress 2.6.3 and released the version 2.6.5. The security issue is an XSS exploit that affects IP-based virtual servers running on Apache 2.x. Along with the security issues, 2.6.5 also rectifies 3 other minor fixes. [...]

The first public beta of Wordpress is out finally. According to Wordpress, the design is almost completely implemented but final touches are yet to done and also the Beta version provides the best experience in Firefox and Safari but facing some glitches on IE and Opera.

Youtube has changed its logo to suit the occasion of Halloween that occurs on Oct 31. This logo looks kinda spooky which is the essence of Halloween.
