Ubuntu 9.04 Out

The Jaunty Jackalope was finally released yesterday by Canonical.  Ubuntu 9.04 boasts of a lot of new features as compared to its previous version, 8.10

Some of the features are:

1. It now includes the latest Gnome 2.26 with the integration of the Brasero, a CD/DVD burning application

2.  It also includes X.Org server 1.6, which will result in a better video performance.

3. It includes a whole new style for all the notifications and notification preferences.

4.  Jaunty now boasts of a Shorter Boot Speed which ranges anywhere from mindboggling 17.5 seconds to 45 seconds.

5.  A new Linux kernel 2.6.28-11.37 which boasts of a better performance from all your storage drives.

6. Support for Ext4 filesystem, which is optional.
